    今天我们就来说一说怎么样把词用更好的表达串联在一起。

  1. is/are supposed to

  宝宝们，咱们平时在说“应该”这个词的时候，是不是感到了尴尬，因为除了should，再也想不出其他表达了。今天就来教大家一个可以替换should的表达：…is/are supposed to...例如：

Students are supposed to have a better academic performance at school.

I’m supposed to graduate from university this year.

 2. is the norm

  大家想一下平时在说一件事情比较常见的时候，是不是总用common来表达？其实大家可以试着用一用…is the norm. 例如：

In China, having a feast at Chinses New Year’s Eve is the norm.

3. is a luxury

  当我们想要去说一件事情不太可能的时候或者说要实现简直是种奢望的时候，除了直接用一个形容词之外，可以使用词性转换，把形容词变成名词，就得到了…is a luxury这样的表达。例如：

Having an indoor swimming pool on campus is a luxury.

Buying a house in China is a luxury.

4. a wealth of

  一想到“很多”，大家一股脑的都会想说many/lots of/plenty of，对不对？不知道大家还记不记得上一期有几个同义词组 - load of/tons of。那么今天我们再学一次搭配 – a wealth of。例如：

Reading provides us with a wealth of knowledge.

Library offers us a wealth of references. 这里值得注意的是，这个词组后面一般都跟着正能量的事物，负能量的就不要用它啦。

5. stuff like that…

  很多时候，是个人，都是会词穷的，可是考官可不管你辞不辞穷，他们只要你keep talking, 那我们瞬间词穷的时候怎么办？大家可以试试 and stuff like that, 在表示so on 或者 so forth的是时候，也是很好的替换呢。例如：

I’m fond of detective fictions, novels, magazines, and stuff like that.

6. when it comes to

  但我们要表达 “从……方面而言”，好多同学会想到about, 但是其实这并不是最地道d表达方式，大家其实可以用 – when it comes to.例如：

When it comes to faculties, my teachers are all qualified. 除此之外，大家还可以用: As for…/talking about…/Speaking of…等等词，都是来表达从……方面而言很好的词组。

7. make sense

  很多时候我们想说 “这样没道理啊！” 该怎么说?很多时候，大家都会说it’s wrong. 殊不知，其实It doesn’t make any sense. 更是英国人民日常会用的表达。例如：

It doesn’t make any sense to ask students memorize everything without teaching them how to use it. 同时，还有There’s no sense in/it’s pointless to…可以替换着使用。

8. used to...

  不知道大家平时想说 “我以前…”这样的表达的时候，用的是什么词组，今天来教大家一个表达 – used to…这个词用好了，也是攒人品的事。例如：

I used to be lazy but now I’ve changed.

I used to know her well but now I don’t.
