废话不多说,让我们开始吧!

For thousands of years, the Arctic(北极圈) was an unrelenting(无情的) impenetrable(不可穿越到)wilderness(荒漠) covered by thick ice all year round. But the melting polar(极地) caps mean man can now access what's been called "the last frontier(边界)" for several months a year. And that has energy companies and countries salivating at(垂涎于) the prospect(前景) of the riches that lie beneath(under) the region's ice-cold waters. It is perhaps the last great unexplored source of oil and gas on earth. But there're huge risks involved(包含) not least the harsh(严酷的) weather, there's also the potentially catastrophic(灾难性的) damage an oil spill could have on the fragile(脆弱的) ecosystem. Tourism companies are also eyeing(盯着) the Arctic as a big destination for thrill seekers. Matthew Swan is one of the first to get there. His firm(公司) Adventure Canada has been organising cruises(游轮) in the Arctic for 25 years. So who better to tell us how the environment has altered(变化) in the time since he's been operating there?

本段文章中,后置定语的用法很多,过去分词表被动,现在分词表主动,同学们可以积累起来。
